Heat

Making a living is never easy but for those who find loopholes in the system without harming anyone are highly commendable.

I would like cite Neil McCauley from the movie Heat as an example. Played by Robert De Niro, Neil is a robber who only wished to make profit from the bigger crooks without killing others. He would take money from banks since it is insured anyway and not from its customers. He took on a carjacking assignment to retrieve bonds for a client but never planned on killing the security detail. He had to, eventually, after one of the guys he worked with messed up and shot one of them. He tried to get rid of Mister Messed Up for what he had done.

He kept his assets liquid as well. If he was not in any government database, it would take a forensic accountant expert to trace his money back to him, one reason why the cops could not arrest him without actually catching him in the act of committing a crime. Leaving the aftermath of robbery to forensic accountants would have been an option if there was a paper trail to follow but he was a smart criminal who knew how to cover his tracks. It also does not help that he has his own set of principles that are innately good but somehow twisted by his manner of application in what he does. I would love to elaborate more on it but it would be a shame for you not to watch it.
